They’ve got just about anything you could imagine—crispy takoyaki, fresh sushi hand rolls, matcha lattes, fluffy Japanese pancakes, and even things you didn’t know you needed until you tried them. But JAPAN Fes isn’t just a food fair—it’s a full-on experience.
The music is loud, the crowds are excited, and every block is filled with energy. Whether you’re wandering through Chelsea, the East Village, or Park Slope, there’s something new to try around every corner.
This year, JAPAN Fes is going global, with over 70 events planned in cities like New York, Paris, Tokyo, Miami, New Jersey, and Texas. It’s easily one of the biggest celebrations of Japanese street culture in the world.
Here in NYC, events are happening nearly every weekend, rotating through neighborhoods all across the city. And in Paris, the fairs are set up in some of the city’s best spots, blending Japanese and European tradition.
What makes JAPAN Fes so special is how it brings people together. The festival is rooted in the idea of “Wayō Setchū,” a blend of Japanese and Western styles, and it’s super comforting. You’ll find classic bites alongside creative fusion dishes, plus plenty of small businesses and sharing what they love.
With over 1 million people expected to attend and more than 2,000 vendors involved, JAPAN Fes is more than just an event—it’s a community.
I’ll be stopping by a few of the NYC events this summer, and if you’re nearby (or even just visiting), it’s definitely worth checking out. Come hungry, bring friends, and get ready to discover something new.
Hope to see you there.
